OBJECTIVE

    To publish, diffuse and stimulate high quality intellectual production in the area of Science and Technology Policy and Management, focused on Less-Developed Countries and Regions.

SECTIONS

Articles    Unpublished works approved by senior referees.

Notes    Short articles and other writings dealing with questions related to the fields of knowledge covered by RECITEC,including debates and didactic material.

Memorial Notes and comments about important events on the area of knowledge covered by RECITEC.

Reviews Review of new books and bibliographic reviews on selected subjects, approved by senior referees.

Agenda Information about future events on the area of knowledge covered by RECITEC.

LANGUAGES:    Portuguese, Spanish, English and French    Works will be published in one of the languages above, as chosen by the author. Abstracts will be available in at least two of these languages. E-mail messages received in Spanish and Portuguese will be answered in Portuguese; those received in French and English will be answered in English.

WORD PROCESSOR    Word 6.0 for Windows; Word 6.0 and Word 7.0 for Windows 95.

READERS' REGISTRATION AND ACCESS TO CONTENTS

Free access to Abstracts, Contents and Agenda
    Access to published works' Abstracts, Contents and Agenda is free of charge, through the WWW.

Access by using reader's usercode
    Through the Contents, the Abstracts and by using the Search System, readers will be able to select works to be accessed. By using the reader's e-mail, supplied at the registration procedure, the reader gets access to the selected work.

Registration
    Registration is free of charge and is valid for one year. By filling in the registration form the reader is promptly assigned his/her reader's e-mail as usercode.
    Registered readers will be informed about new articles published via e-mail, during their passwords' validity period.

INFORMATION TO AUTHORS

1. Works on issues related to Science and Technology Policy and Management for less-developed countries and/or regions submitted for publication will be evaluated for originality, in addition to the conventional assessment on quality and merit.

2. Academic production dealing on subjects with no high priority status in central countries' research agenda is welcome to RECITEC, even if the number of researchers interested in such subjects is rather limited.

3. Works submitted for publication in the Articles and Reviews sections will be referred to senior researchers, with no information whatsoever about their authors' identification.

4. The evaluation process will begin immediately upon the work being received by e-mail.

5. Evaluation reports will be available to works' authors, but referees' identification will no be disclosed.

6. Works submitted for publication in the Notes and Memorial sections are evaluated by the Executive Committee.

7. Authors are strongly advised to strive for high levels of "editing final revision", as additional editing will not be performed by RECITEC.

8. The individual author, or the first author in the case of cooperative writing, will submit the work for evaluation, indicating the RECITEC section to which its publication is addressed, and by e-mailing it expressly assumes its authorship.
    Note: Works may also be submitted on diskettes, or by direct communication with RECITEC's computer.

9. A sharply printed hard-copy of the paper, as well as of the evaluation application, both signed by the authors, are also required to complete the submission procedure.

10. Papers must display the following information items about its author(s): institutions of work, positions occupied, home and work addresses and academic titles.

11. Each paper and its abstracts should be stored in one single file, using Word 6.0 for Windows, Word 6.0 or Word 7.0 for Windows 95 processor, formatted for printing on letter size sheets, with 3 cm. margins, Times New Roman font, size 10 for text and size 12 for title and subtitles, single space separation between lines and double space between paragraphs, different level titles and between titles and text.

12. Page number limits are:
    40 pages for Articles (papers exceeding this limit should present specific justification);
    25 pages for Notes, Memorial and bibliographic reviews in Reviews;
    05 pages for book reviews in Reviews;

13. Abstracts will be limited to 14 lines, size 10 fonts, single space, 3 cm margins and should be presented in at least two of the languages used in RECITEC.

14. Abstracts should include reference to up to three key-words, in each of the languages used.

15. Articles, notes, reviews, etc. should comply with conventional rules for citations and bibliographic references.

16. All opinions expressed and information presented at any material published are entirely of its author's responsibility.

17. The very transmission or remittance of a paper to RECITEC implies authorization for its being evaluated and published.

18. RECITEC does not pay copyrights to authors.

19. Requests for publication of matters, no longer than five lines of text, at the Section Agenda, will be promptly considered for approval, provided they are submitted in electronic and paper media.

Aiming at being innovative and since it is still at an experimental stage, RECITEC is highly receptive to comments and suggestions
